Hi, I'm Eddie Johnson. Washer-Wise was established in 1995 in the Trentham area of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. The business was successfully developed for eight years by its original owner and founder, Mr. Clive Knight, a former Hotpoint engineer. Unfortunately, due to ill health, Clive was forced to stop trading in 2002.
I had known Clive through the trade for some time. We had become friends, regularly chatting on the phone and occasionally meeting to discuss the domestic appliance industry. When Clive mentioned his intention to retire, I saw an opportunity to take on Washer-Wise as an exciting yet significant challenge. Taking over from Clive meant stepping up my game and learning quickly. Clive Knight and Washer-Wise had built an impressive local reputation, and until then, I had only worked for others, not having to make big decisions myself.
In early 2003, I took the plunge and bought the company from Clive. My goal was to maintain and even enhance the excellent reputation of Washer-Wise, expanding its reach and services to Wolverhampton & Stafford.
Washer-Wise operates under the motto "Fast friendly service at prices you can afford." The company places minimal emphasis on advertising, relying heavily on word-of-mouth referrals. This strategy is based on the belief that a job well done results in satisfied customers, who in turn become the best form of advertisement for the business.
The core objective of Washer-Wise is to offer services that are both efficient and cost-effective. This approach is geared towards helping clients have their appliances repaired quickly and at a reasonable cost. In situations where a repair is not feasible or cost-effective, Washer-Wise offers a competitive replacement service. This service is designed to ease the burden of purchasing a new appliance, typically including delivery, installation, and disposal of the old appliance in the overall cost. This comprehensive service aims to save customers money compared to high street store prices and eliminates the inconvenience associated with traditional appliance shopping.
Eddie also runs Reactions Goalkeeper Coaching for 8-16s in Staffordshire.
